Update: Tropical Storm Alex

On June 29th, The Salvation Army DFW deployed a mobile feeding unit (canteen) from Fort Worth to Austin, ulitmately to be sent down to San Antonio.

Salvation Army officer, Lieutenant Correira, is stationed on this mobile feeding unit. Read his personal update about the current conditions and how the Army is responding to this tropical storm.




"The Salvation Army Fort Worth canteen has spent the morning purchasing supplies and coordinating with The Salvation Army Austin Disaster Response Team. At this time we will be heading to the Mobile Task Force staging area at the National Guard Armory for inspection and await deployment. Spirits are high and we are ready to respond! We are prepared to feed up to 750 meals working with The Salvation Army Austin canteen."
